Roseanna BeckMy name is Roseanna Beck and I do a lot of crafts for various charities and am also a published designer in many magazines and books.

I design in crochet and plastic canvas but I also knit, do needlepoint and latch hook. I have been crocheting and knitting since I was 7 years old. I learned from my best friend’s grandmother who was in a wheelchair. We would sit on her porch for an hour or so and have a lesson. First, of course, we did chains, then she gradually taught us to make doilies and crochet around handkerchiefs and that was with a No. 13 needle which I still have today.

Eventually I learned to make other things. It was a little harder for me at first because I am naturally left handed and she was right handed. Later in my life I taught myself to crochet and knit right handed as it was easier to follow patterns. I am proud to say I am the only one or my two other friends who still use this talent after all these years. I think Grandma Zupko would be happy.

I also do tailoring and make clothes. My dad is the one who does the sewing in their house and his mother was also a seamstress. I guess that is where I get my talent. My parents live about 10 minutes from us and we are very close as I am an only child.

When not sewing or taking care of the house, I also play the organ and some piano.

Is there a corrected instructions for the Pastel single shell afghan?

Hello. I'm currently making the Baby's First Crochet Blanket. Am I supposed to chain 3 at the end of each row before making the turn? It doesn't specifically say (other than in the row 1 directions). Thanks. MaureenHoyne@gmail.com

Please send me theCORRECt instructions for fiesta afghan. Please. Ck out ravelry. 4 neg comments and I like crochet said they corrected them Thursday. They did not. Today is Sunday. Such a bummer!! Spent lots on cotton yarn and can't get proper directions. Shame on someone don't know who.

Hi Roseanna, I came across the Sweet Baby Dreams Afghan. I'm confused after row 7. What rows do you use to continue the pattern?

Hi, Roseanna! I just came across your Lavender Shell Afghan. I was wondering if you would be able to tell me the multiples to chain to make it wider. I LOVE BIG afghans. I never know how to figure out the repeat. One time I thought I had one figured out as 7 plus 3 turns out it was 14 plus 7 . . . go figure. Anyway, I think your Lavender Shell Afghan is gorgeous and the close up just looks so soft and cuddly. I would appreciate any information you could share in that regard. Thanks so much.

Sorry, it's me again. If you could send me the multiples for the Lavender Shell Afghan. Thanks again.

Hi there, The multiples for this design are in the instructions. Throw is crocheted in multiples of 8 plus 12. Thanks! - Julia from FaveCrafts

Hi. I was trying to send a message to Roseanna, but when I got to the end, it asked me to enter my rating. I can't figure out what that means. Can you help me out so I can send her a comment? Thanks!

Nevermind. I tried it a different way and it went thru. Thanks anyway ! ! !

Hi, so far my favorite pattern is Baby's First Blanket. I have made a total of 6 baby blankets using your free patterns. I make these for two charities and I really, really love your patterns above everyone else's. Thank you so much. Sharon

The pattern is the daffodil.

I'm having a hard time with what to do for the green back the pattern for it seems to be missing.

Hi Roseanna, I too crochet for charity and my family and I really love your patterns. They are beautiful and yet make up easily and quickly. And they give me the opportunity to make different ones instead of the same one all the time. I make some, along with bigger ones, for our local hospital Pediatric ward and for Women's Choice. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing these beautiful patterns with the rest of us.

Roseann: I am interested in the cupcake afghan...but for a baby shower gift. It says 40 x 46 which seems a little big. Do you have directions to make it smaller for a baby? Thanks Mary Ann

Hi Roseanna, I am dying to make the Rainbow Baby Afghan but I don't know how to make the cluster stitch. Do you have a video on it? Or is this just three double crochets? Thank you so much for your help, Dee.

I also Cross stitches and Plastic Canva also and now working on Crocheting not starting off well so far but I know it take time. if you have any tips or easy projects please let me know thanks sooooo muich. Shannon

Would like to know if I can use any of your pattern stitches and make a product from it and sell the product I make. For instance I take the Bavarian Crochet Block and make an afghan out of it.

Just wanted to say that I love your page and that it is the easiest I have seen to maneuver. I also LOVE your patterns and can't wait to try many of them. So THANK YOU for all your work and effort to help us that do not know much about crocheting. Sincerely, Alady Am I

Hi Roseanna, I think your pattern Pink Moscato Double Shell is beautiful and I would like to make it larger. Can you tell me what the multiple is for this pattern?

I just came across your cupcake afghan and I read where you thought it would be a good pattern to make dishcloths. I agree. I was wondering if you could help me figure out how many chains to begin with. I'm in the middle of helping a friend make 60 dishcloths for wedding shower favors. I would like to surprise her with some made in this pattern.

Hi Alyce! Thanks so much for commenting. I think a good starting number for dishcloths would be to chain 36-40 chains, depending on how the pattern plays out.

You do such amazing work! I just love all of your patterns, thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for being willing to share your beautiful Precious Pink Baby Afghan pattern. My granddaughter just married in Sept., 2012. No news of any little ones at this time, but I thought what a beautiful way to welcome our 1st great granddaughter (whenever she comes our way!) Since you are a designer as well, could you figure a way to use the same pattern in a baby hat? I crochet and knit some (I am a nurse at a hospital that has a nursery, and sometimes I make hats for our babies), but am not a pro by any means, and NOT a designer by any means. Thank you again for this most wonderful pattern.

Hi Roseanna Wonderful crochet patterns. Will enjoy doing these thank you

Hi Roseanna, I really like your crochet works but if you could please include some videos specially about round patterns of kitchen... thanx leela

I love your Baby's First Afghan and would like to know how to extend it to a larger size...perhaps for the lap or as a shrub. Can you help? Thanks, katzdu4@yahoo.com
