Lacy Small Shells Afghan

Here's a light weight blanket that will look decorative for the Spring. With bright, pastel colors this afghan makes for a great gift too! Make the Lacy Small Shells Afgahn with this crochet afghan pattern.

Lacy Small Shells Afghan

Materials:

220 yds. White Red Heart 4-ply yarn (W)
245 yds. Light Peach Red Heart 4-ply yarn (A)
280 yds. Petal Pink Red Heart 4-ply yarn (B)
245 yds. Maize Red Heart 4-ply yarn (C)
H crochet hook or size needed for gauge

Gauge:
9 dc = 2 ½”
sc, dc, sc, dc, sc, dc rows = 3”

Stitch Guide:
Chain (ch), Single Crochet (sc), Double Crochet (dc), Slip Stitch (sl st)

Row 1 – With white ch 129, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 2, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, rep from *
across, fasten off and turn.
Row 2 – (Right Side) Join A with a sl st in first sc, ch 2, 3 dc in each ch 2 sp across ending dc in
last sc, fasten off and turn.
Row 3 – (Wrong Side) Join white with a sl st in first dc, sc in same sp, *ch 2, skip 3 dc, sc in sp
before next dc, rep from * across ending sc in top of ch 2, fasten off and turn.

Rep Rows 2 and 3 for color pattern as follows:

W A W B W C (13 times)

Edging:
Rnd 1 – (On Wrong Side) work along side edge start at first ch of bottom row with white 3 sc in
sp, *ch 2, sc in white sc, rep from * across ending 3 sc in first dc of top edge, work along
top edge, *ch 2, skip 3 dc, sc in sp before next dc, rep from * across ending 3 sc in top of
ch 2, work along opposite side edge, *ch 2, sc in white sc, rep from * across ending 3 sc
in ch st of bottom row, join to next ch st, fasten off and turn.

Rnd 2 – (On Right Side) with pink work along top edge start at upper right corner (sc, dc. ch 1,
dc, sc) in center sc, (sc, ch 3, dc) in each ch 2 sp across ending (sc, dc, ch 1, dc, sc) in
corner center sc, work along side edge (sl st, ch 3, dc) in each ch 2 sp across ending
(sc, dc, ch 1, dc, sc) in center sc, continue pattern for opposite side edge and bottom,
join to beg sc and fasten off.
