Pearls and Hearts Tissue Box Cover

Dress up your tissues for Valentine's Day with this free crochet pattern. This adorable Pearls and Hearts Tissue Box Cover makes for a pretty gift and is a perfect holiday crochet project.

Materials:

  • Boutique Tissue Box
  • G crochet hook or size needed for guage
  • 1 skein each White, Jockey Red and Petal Pink Red Heart 4-ply yarn
  • 1 yd. White Pearl String (4.57 meter)
  • Tapestry Needle

GAUGE: Side measures 4 ½” x 5 ¼”

STITCH GUIDE:

Chain (ch), Single Crochet (sc), Double Crochet (dc), Slip Stitch (sl st)


SIDES: (make 4)

Row 1 – With pink ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1 and turn. (10 sc)

Row 2 – Sc in each sc across, ch 1 and turn.

Rep Row 2 for a total of 12 rows.

Edging: Rnd 1 – With red sc in each st around having 3 sc in each corner, join to beg sc and fasten off.

Rnd 2 – With white sl st in any corner sc, ch 2, (dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same sp, dc in each sc to next corner sc, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in sc, rep around, join to top of beg ch 2 and fasten off.

Heart (make 4)
With red ch 30, sew in place over pink rows to form a heart. Sew pearls around outside edge of heart.

TOP:

Row 1 – With pink ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1 and turn. (10 sc)

Row 2 – Sc in each sc across, ch 1 and turn.

Row 3 – Rep Row 2.

Rows 4-8 – This starts to make tissue opening. Work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, leave yarn, skip 4 sc, attach another yarn and work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 1 and turn. Work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc for 3 more rows and fasten off. Pick up yarn from other side and work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc for 4 more rows, ch 4 sc in each of next 3 sc to form opening, ch 1 and turn.

Row 9 – Work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 1 sc in each ch across, 1 sc in each of last 3 sc, ch 1 and turn.

Row 10 – Rep Row 2 and fasten off.

Edging: Rep Rnds 1 and 2 of side edging.

JOINING:

With white whipstitch sides together. With white whipstitch top to sides.

BOTTOM:

With red work 1 sc in each st around, join to beg sc and fasten off.
