Hi there, I contacted the designer and will post a comment when I hear back with help. Thanks! - Julia from FaveCrafts

Hi again, I contacted Roseanna and here's what she said - "I checked the number of chains and it is correct. Below is a breakdown of the use of the chains: Dc in 4th ch from hook, 6 dc, [ch 2, 1 ch for the Shell, ch 2], 8 dc, etc. (4 chs) 6chs (5 chs) 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs, 5 chs, 8 chs = 127 chs The multiple is 13 plus 10 which would be 13x9=117 plus 10 comes to 127 chs." - Hope this helps! I also made this afghan for a baby that is expected tomorrow, it is my favorite by far, so beautiful and easy to make.
