Pretty and Puffy Crochet Afghan

Follow Roseanna Beck's easy-to-follow, free crochet pattern to make a Pink and Puffy Crochet Afghan.  This afghan is so soft and fluffy, your baby will feel like she's sleeping on a cloud.

SIZE: 38” x 40”

Materials:

• H and I hooks or size needed for guage
• 610 yds. White Red Heart 4-ply yarn
• 260 yds. Baby Pink Red Heart 4-ply yarn
• 240 yds. Pale Blue Red Heart 4-ply yarn

GUAGE: With H hook 6 rows – 3 ½”
3 Puff St – 3 ¼”

STITCH GUIDE

Chain (ch), Single Crochet (sc), Double Crochet (dc), Slip Stitch (sl st)
Special Stitch: Puff St – sc, ch 2, 2 dc

Row 1 – With pink and H hook ch 137, 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, skip 2 ch, *Puff St in next ch,
skip 3 ch, rep across ending skip 2 ch, sc in last ch, fasten off and turn. (33 Puff Sts)
Row 2 – Join white (sl st, ch 2, 2 dc) in sc, Puff St in each ch 2 sp across ending sc in last ch sp,
fasten off and turn.

Rep Row 2 as follows:
Pink, White, Blue, White, Pink, White, Blue, White for a total of 65 rows

EDGING

Rnd 1 – With white and I hook work along top edge (sc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) in upper right corner
sc, Puff St in each ch 2 sp across ending (sc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) in last ch sp, work along
side edge Puff St in each sc across ending (sc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) in last ch sp, work
along bottom edge Puff St in each ch 3 sp across ending (sc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) in
last st, work along side edge Puff St in each sc across, join to beg sc, fasten off and
turn.

Rnd 2- With white and H hook starting at upper right side corner (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch 2 sp and
next dc, work along top edge * (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch 2 sp, sc in next dc, rep from * across
ending (sc, ch 3, sc) in corner ch 2 sp and next dc, rep pattern as established for side
edge, bottom edge and opposite side edge, join to beg sc and fasten off.
