- Cut the bottoms off of bottles that have 5 or 6 bumps on the bottom and paint them to look like snowflakes.
 - Use the 5-6 bump bottle bottoms to store small items, like jewelry and beads.
 - Cut the top off of liter bottles and use them as greenhouses by placing them over sprouting seedlings.
 - Use them to make birdfeeders.
 - Cut the bottoms off of water bottles and dip the bottle into soapy water. Blow through the hole where you would drink the water to create your own bubble blower!
 - Turn water bottles into a piggy bank. Cut a small slit in the top to place the coins and simply unscrew the top to remove the change inside.
 - Make your own lava lamps! Fill the water bottle about ¾ full with vegetable oil then add water. Add 10 drops of food coloring. Break an Alka-Seltzer tab into four pieces and drop one in at a time and wait for each to dissolve.

Found this during a school project, We are working on getting plastics and microplastics out of the ocean and telling people to reuse bottles and bags. These are photos of things we found walking around outside for like 2 minutes

When you're trying to figure out how to rid the environment of plastic then this is the way to go. First you collect all the bottles then you create useful crafts, jewelry, bird feeders among others. It's the best way to teach your kids how to reuse and recycle too so if you haven't started yet then this is the place.

I have a friend who has all kinds of animals. She has some snakes, boas, this would be great to make for her! Have you got one for birds? She has beautiful parrots, but a nice bird would do. Thanks for the clear instructions and pics.

Good, sturdy construction instructions, but I don't understand the need for the cheese cloth. I wouldn't throw away the tops of the bottles. Cut off a few centimetres below the screw-on top. This makes an excellent seal for plastic bags containing, e.g. cat food, temporary supplies of coffee, sugar, powdered milk, etc. to take when you go camping, picnics, etc. Just insert the top of the bag through the top of the bottle from the bottom of the neck, fold over the bag tightly over the thread, and screw on the top. Keeps out moisture, ants, flies, cockroaches and any other undersirable goggas. Joyce

and the ideas keep coming! The water in this town is over-chlorinated and not fit to drink, hence a lot of water bottles lots of uses for the bottles and now a great use for the tops. Thank you.
