Christmas Embossing Board Card

By: Crafter's Companion

This adorable Christmas Embossing Board Card is a great way to tell your family that you care during the holiday season. It will be a great decoration on top of your fireplace during Christmastime! Send these to your family and friends as an inventive holiday card.

  • Xmas & More Embossing Board
  • 6mm Embossing Tool
  • Several Pieces Of Xmas Design Card Or Paper
  • Top Score Scoreboard (And Scorer)
  • 1 Sheet Of Letter Size Card (Main Body Of Card)
  • Xmas Stamp
  • Adhesive
  • Embellishments
  • Scissors

Step 1

Score and fold the base sheet of cardstock in half. Open the card out and lay it onto the board with the crease line butted up against the side pegs as shown here. Rub the drier sheet or candle onto the wrong side of the card which is facing you. This will make the reverse of the card slippy, and enable the tool to glide smoothly over the sheet. Take the embossing tool and insert into the leader channel at the top of the board.

Step 2

Push the tool into the leading channel at the top of the board and pull the tool towards you. When you feel resistance it’s an indication that the channel has changed direction. Feel your way with the tool until you engage into the channel once again. The internal designs are reached from the top once again, so feel your way with the tool until the whole of the design is finished.

Step 3

Tip: If you have difficulty finding the channels, it may be an idea to do the design on scrap paper first then keep it at the side of you for reference.

With the card folded in half along the crease line, up carefully cut around the outside of the embossed design through both layers of card - remembering to leave the spine of the card intact so the card will stand up.

Step 4

Take the Christmas design paper and lay it face down onto the board. Using low tack tape; stick into position and emboss around the first inner design. Repeat this with a contrasting piece of design paper embossing the smaller inner design.

Carefully cut around the outside of the embossed line. Stick the design papers to the card with foam squares to give the card dimension.

Step 5

Create an embellishment for the front of the card. Here we have stamped and coloured a christmas design stamp. Cut the image out and stick to the centre of the card using foam pads. Embellish the corners and top of the card with die cut holly leaves, berries, faux gems and a bow.
