Picture frame crafts for adults like this one are wonderful because they pair nicely with a complementary wall decoration! Make a beautiful heart plaque that reads "I and Love and You" and hang it above a photo of the kids or grandkids.

The text in the plaque matches the minty color of the frame for a nicely paired set of projects. Add a bit of glitter to the frame for extra magic! The heart looks beautiful with layers and gradients of red color.

This is a wonderful project to decorate the kitchen, living room, or office.

Materials List

  • Design Master TintIT.® Strawberry – 1
  • Design Master übermatte® Mist – 1
  • Wood heart plaque – 1
  • Wood letter cutouts – enough to spell your message
  • Wood frame – 1, thrift find
  • Microfine opalescent glitter – 1
  • Glue and glue gun
  • Latex gloves
  • Paper towel

Instructions

Heart

  1. Protect your hands with latex gloves. Closely spray Strawberry TintIT on wood heart plaque to wet the surface. With paper towel immediately wipe the color into the wood grain.  Deepen the color around the heart edges with additional coats of TintIT.  With transparent color, each additional coat will deepen the color. 3 coats used here.  Let each coat dry before applying the next.

  2. Spray the letters for chosen quote with Mist übermatte. Apply 2 coats.  When dry, glue to the heart plaque and hang.

Frame

  1. Spray 2 coats of Mist übermatte on picture frame.  Let dry between coats. Consider spraying back side first then repeat on the front.

  2. Apply one more coat of Mist on the front side of frame. Immediately, while coating is still wet, sprinkle glitter over the surface.   Let dry then insert image for display.
