Gauge:  12 dc + 7 rows = 4 in. (10 cm).  BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Thanks for your comment. Don't forget to share!

I'm always challenged to do complicated and hard patterns. I can't wait to do this Colorful Windchime Afghan to prove to myself that I'm able to read hard patterns and execute them. Before I forget, I would like to commend the organized and well-written pattern of this project here in Favecrafts. The color scheme of this afghan has been carefully thought out that it came out so lovely and classy. Thank you for this free pattern.

How many stitches do you need to cast on if you want this to be bigger?

Hi minimoo--Thanks for your comment. It depends on how big you'd like the afghan to be. You can double the size of the afghan by doubling the amount of stitches cast on at the beginning. Otherwise you can also use a larger hook size and thicker yarn to make the afghan bigger. Hope that helps! --FaveCrafts Editor

you have lots beautiful patterns

Beautiful. Love the colours.

I just finished this. I wasn't sure about the edging at the end with gaps, so I chained two the first time around and it turned out great.

I love the look of the tunisian rug. Can someone please tell me what a crochet needle is? I have never come across a pattern using it before. I am only an intermediate crocheter. thank you .

Are you referring to the large blunt eye needle mentioned in the pattern? This is very large, blunt tipped needle with a large eye for threading yarn through it. It is often used to sew two crocheted pieces or squares together. Hope this helps!

Is there a way to knit this instead of crochet?

Hi,I think what the pattern is telling you, is that at the end of the 4th row, you will have 28 chain two spaces across the row. Hope I am correct and that will help you. Keep crocheting!

I am stuck on row 4 of the first strip at the end where it says "ch-2 sps at end of this row. Can someone help?

The pattern is beautiful and the colors are lovely and bright. I would love to try this one. Crochet In Egypt

@beechiegirl1953: Thanks for all the suggestions and positive feedback as well! Our tech team is actually in the process of developing and testing a new printing method similar to what you suggested. We hope to make this change soon! Unfortunately, we are unable to provide both charts and written instructions for each project because our patterns are contributed by independent designers who may choose to submit their patterns in either form. Once again, thank you for all of your feedback! We hope you continue to enjoy FaveCrafts! -- FaveCrafts Editor

This looks like a beautiful pattern and I'm definitely going to try it My comment however is a general one and reflects that of others' Please set up the site in a different format for printing patterns like most other sites have When we click on Print a Preview window should come up sans ads so that we can see what will be printed Right now I have to do a Copy and Paste into my Word processor to get what I want in my printout We have already seen the ads and certainly don't want to waste ink printing them along with the pattern Ink is expensive Also a whole page was printed out p when I printed this one just now that I threw away as it related to signing up for the free issue of Crochet World If I wanted to take advantage of that I would haveRead More filled in the form online Also I agree that the patterns ought to be offerred in both chart and written instructions We have different preferences and I find charts confusing but others don't Thank you for the great patterns In summary it's a great website

Many ask for charts because they are easy to use. But many of us have brain or eye problems that make it absolutely impossible to use any chart no matter how much we would like to understand them. And, there are many thousands of us who couldn't use a chart if our lives depended on it. SO, thank you for having written instructions.

I really wish that all the patterns were easier to download.....add a link for a pdf file. I hate having to copy and paste into my word program and then sometimes the images don't copy correctly. I always end up with the ads and such in my copy that I try to save to my files. Please make it easier!! Thanks!!

Why don't you publish crochet charts in addition to written instructions? I find charts much easier to work from than written instructions, and it's easier to remember the pattern. Great site though.

I adore the colors I love bright colors. The design is simple and easy. I just love it. It's great

I am just getting back into crocheting again and this looks like just the project. Cheerful enough that every home needs to have one. I just love how it will brighten any room and still have a purpose. Thanks for sharing with us.

I can't wait to learn how to crochet. This afghan is beautiful.

I enjoy working on afghans while watching TV in the evenings. I'm looking forward to trying this one.

Haven't tried it yet, but very light, airy & colorful

It is so happy and colorful! it smells of joy and happy evenings, wrapped in rainbow to have a nice family time:)

This Afghan would add beauty to any room, Plus it would be warm when need, like curling up to watch movies, or reading.

I don't usually comment but when I saw this afgan, I Had too. First I am a Fine Arth Thread Painter and I LOVE COLOR. The choice of colors in this afgan are fantastic, they breath, they live, they don't just lie there. I thought the pattern was quite different and I do LOVE Different. Looks likew it would be easy to do, make a great gift for someone and brighten up someones day a lot. Dyan Bruneau

Wow! This a beautiful afghan! The pattern seems easy to follow & I love the bright colors! Just might have to make this one!

There were several that asked about the finished dimensions.. I looked for this pattern on LionBrnad's website and here is that information. SIZE: One Size About 36 x 56 in. (91.5 x 142 cm) Here is also the information regarding how many skeins: 860-124 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Toffee 2 balls 860-144 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Magenta 1 ball 860-108 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Dusty Blue 1 ball 860-148 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Burgundy 1 ball 860-133 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Brick 1 ball 860-123 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Beige 1 ball 860-170 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Pea Green 1 ball 860-135 Vanna's Choice Yarn: Rust 1 ball

has anyone doubled the number of stitches or triples for this. I started it at the 174 and it seems way too short. Just wondering if anyone did that??

Sorry for the wait, we have added the amount of yarn for each color. Thanks!

I would think they mean one each of the colors. Other patterns they show that require more yarn, show the amount needed. Of course this depends on if you crochet according to their gauge. Also this says it is "reader's comments." Favecrafts may not reply to these comments.

How long does it take for you to reply to the comments???

How much of each skein do I need to purchase for the above afghan?

How much yarn is needed per color...this information is imperative.........

This pattern does not tell you how much of each color is required or I'm just not seeing something

do you have any patterns for swivel hooks?

can you change the crochet to knitting for this pattern...? bren

Your questions about the Wind Chime Afghan will be answered if you go to lionbrand.com - Free Crochet Pattern 90324AD. You will find the dimensions and the amount of each yarn color to purchase.

How much of each yarn color does the pattern require? I'm sorry, I don't really know how to read that part of the pattern very well. Thank you to whoever answers! I think the afghan in shades of blue would be very pretty!

I think I will make this afghan using different blues from light blue to dark blue panels. I also would like to know the dimensions since i want to use it on my king size bed.

It would be so helpful if the finished dimensions were given on all the afghans.
