The “tuxedo” coloring of a penguin is actually a form of camouflage when swimming. From above, their backs blend in with the dark color of the water, and from below, their white bellies blend in with the appearance of the water’s sunlit surface. Penguins drink a lot of salt water, but they have a special gland located above the eye to filter the salt out of their bloodstream when they sneeze.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Begin your penguin doodle with a body shape that looks like an “8”.

    2. Add a rounded “M” inside the head, then draw a triangle beak below the center point.

    3. Draw a curved line inside the bottom half of the body to separate the belly from the part that will be colored black.

    4. Add fins and feet, as well as eyes.

    5. Finish your doodle by coloring your cheerful penguin.
