Would I be able to start this on circular needles?

This pattern looks lovely, but what size needles and what guage of yarn is needed?

Oh my goodness, I'm glad you asked. The needle size is 9 or 5.5 mm and gauge is 16 sts = 4 inches in stockinette. I'll update the pattern presently to reflect this! Thank you again.

Always wanted to make a knitted hat because they are so warm and it means a lot to make it yourself but was not sure where to start and now I came across this tutorial and video and I am anxious to try one. I would love to make some for my grandkids and family. I like making things myself so I can choose my own colors. These are easy stitches to do and video helps you follow along. Thanks for showing it. How many have beginners have made one?

I made this cable knit hat for my partner and he adores it, we have a campervan and go away in it most weekend, when we are away I have to nearly prise this off his head! Since making it my Mam and brother have now requested me to make one for them each as well...I think I'm going to need a few more knitting camper weekends away! Thank you for the pattern!

This looks so warm and cozy! The burnt orange color makes this the perfect hat for fall.
