Can this pattern be converted to crochet?

I need help with this pattern. I just want to know if I am suppose to knit the ducks, then the stripes, and then join the ducks and stripes and then knit the blanket from the ducksstripes to knit the blanket.

How can I change this pattern into a crochet patern? I do not knit and my granddaughter is doing the baby's room in ducks. I would love to make this for her. Can you help me? Or do you know of a duck blanket pattern I could make in crochet. Thank for your help Linda
