DIY Jewelry Upcycled Silk Scarf Necklace

"This craft is a fantastic way to hang on to much loved old silk scarves or silky blouses by turning them into a untique piece of DIY jewelry. You can make them into necklaces or bracelets and they make a fantastic gift. This craft is very easy to do and cost almost nothing as you are repurposing and upcycling stuff you already have. The brighter more colourful the silky material the more stunning the jewelry."

NotesAs you can see I made my own denim beads for this necklace, details of how to do this are on the blog post. The necklaces are really eye catching, I like to wear them as bracelets as well.

Great idea! I love upcycling projects. This looks so easy and quick to make, I can make a bunch of different ones in one sitting. I'd also like to try this with silk ties, you can find lots of those for cheap in second hand stores. This would look great mixed up with some wooden painted beads.

Oh, I love this! I plan to take beads from old, outdated necklaces and use them in the project. Some if the beads can be inside the silk scarf with accent beads between them as the picture shows from the link provided. I've seen these necklaces in craft fairs and online. I had no idea they were so easy to make. This would make a great Christmas gift for my mom. I am also wondering if this coulf be done with a silk tie if the stitching was ripped out.

This is a five-star project and then some! I have a couple of silk bracelets that wrap around the wrist and leave 'tails' so feminine and yet somewhat avant garde. Wonderful to wear - never thought of a necklace and perhaps a matching bracelet and now I can make my own. Thank you.
