This is an impressive star decoration. If you are wanting an even more spectacular look, I could see expanding the size and using old cardboard from boxes, cereal boxes or cartons and cut them into the star shape, and then covering the star sections with your patriotic paper, old gift wrap in patriotic colors, or even just painting them. Adding buttons for the edges or even silver tinsel would really add some pizazz as well. Great project!
