This is so easy! My 5 year old daughter made several of these and made them fridge magnets.

This is a great project for a pre-k or kindergarten class to do only glue the pieces on and put magnet on back. Kids and grown ups alike love butterflies and what better way to show them off then to put magnets on them and display on fridge for all to see. This is a super easy tutorial to read to make these. This is also a great beginner project to teach someone to sew.

I love this butterfly. But I am thinking of changing it a little. I want to assemble it as shown only using 1 layer of felt for all pieces. Trace around finished butterfly. Cut this out of black felt that is folded in half with top of pattern on the fold. Then I will put on the fleece and transfer web over all entire back of butterfly. Then fuse it to half of the black butterfly cutouts. Inside this put a piece of pink felt that is sewn onto back inside. Sew only on top and bottom. Then this will become a different needle case. I will be teaching girls to sew and I believe they will love making this as a needle case for their needles after I finish teaching them some basics. Thank you for this pattern.
