Scrap Beads

Take old fabric scraps and turn them into these fun Scrap Beads.  Great for one of a kind necklaces and earrings, these funky beads are a great way to use up fabric and ribbon scraps that you may have lying around the house.  The great thing about these artistic beads is that one is not like the other, so this is a great gift idea for anyone who likes to show off stand out accessories.

Materials:

• Artistic wire 24 gauge
• Seed beads
• Burlap
• Thin strips of material
• Toothpicks

Instructions:

1. Take your burlap, thin strips of material, and toothpick and start by wrapping your burlap around a toothpick.
   
   
    
2. Then tie the thin strips of material around the burlap good and tight. I would tie at least three or four strips to help hold the burlap together. You could use different colors of strips, or even yarn.
   
   
    
3. Now take your artistic wire and wrap it around the burlap and give it a twist to tighten.
   
   
   
   
    
4. Now add a seed bead, then weave and wrap the wire through and around the burlap, add another bead and weave and wrap it through burlap again.
   
   
    
5. Continue weaving and wrapping the beads and wire until you get the desired look.
   
   
    
6. Be sure to stick the wire through the burlap (weaving) this will help hold the bead together.
