    These Mini Knit Stocking Ornaments are great for hanging on your tree this holiday season.  These cute knit ornaments would also make adorable gift tag embellishments for the holiday season.  The great thing about these cute mini stockings is that they're awesome for using up yarn scraps...so gather up all that leftover yarn and get to work knitting up this precious Christmas project!

    Materials:

    • 2-size 2 double -pointed knitting needles
    • 4-ply yarn in white and colors of your choice~small amounts of yarn are perfect for these
    • Large-eye needle for sewing seam of stocking

     

    Instructions:

    1. Cast on 31 stitches
       
    2. Row 1~Purl across
       
    3. Row 2~Knit across
       
    4. Row 3~Purl across
       
    5. Row 4~Knit across
       
    6. Row 5~Purl across
       
    7. Row 6~Knit 17, slip stitch 1, knit 2 together, pass slip stitch over, turn
       
    8. Row 7~Slip Stitch 1, purl 3, purl 3 together, turn
       
    9. Row 8~Slip stitch 1, knit 3, slip stitch 1, knit 2 together, pass slip stitch over, turn
       
    10. Row 9~Slip stitch 1, purl 3, purl 3 together, turn
       
    11. Row 10~Slip stitch 1, knit 3, slip stitch 1, knit 2 together, pass slip stitch over, turn
       
    12. Row 11~Slip stitch 1, purl 3, purl 3 together, turn
       
    13. Row 12~Slip stitch 1, knit 11
       
    14. Row 13~Purl across
       
    15. Row 14~Knit across (if you want to add stripes, add in rows 14-19)
       
    16. Row 15~Purl across
       
    17. Row 16~Knit across
       
    18. Row 17~Purl across
       
    19. Row 18~Knit across
       
    20. Row 19~Purl across
       
    21. Row 20~Knit across
       
    22. Row 21~Purl across, break off yarn
       
    23. Row 22~With white knit across
       
    24. Row 23~Purl across
       
    25. Row 24~Knit across
       
    26. Row 25~Purl across
       
    27. Row 26~Bind off
       
    28. Sew stocking seam and add a ribbon or yarn to hang.
