Cable hats in winter just add warmth with their complicated twists and turns. This hat is knit on straight needles, which I find much easier to use. The pattern also seems to be pretty straightforward and shaping is only in the last dozen rows. A project that is on my to-make list now!

On row 3 I need some clarification. I have tried 3 times and ribbed out 3 times. So I K1, C4B, K4 and repeat from . My question is after I K4, then I knit my stitches off my cable needle. Do I K4 again and then back to C4B. I do not end up with K1 at the end but with K5. Help please. Thanks.

Hi there! I checked in with our resident knitting expert and this is what she said: "After you C4B and K4 for the first time, you will continue in that fashion (C4B, K4, C4B, K4, etc.) until the last stitch, which you'll knit 1. If your numbers are off, a couple of things might be happening. You may be confusing the two knits from the C4B as part of the K4, or you may have cast on an incorrect number of stitches. To help conceptualize things, you will have 4 stitches dedicated to the cable, and then 4 which are just knit straight across." I hope that helps! -FaveCrafts

Hi there, Unfortunately we do not have a video tutorial for this pattern. However, if you visit our YouTube channel (search "FaveCrafts' on YouTube), you'll find tons of fabulous free knitting videos. Thanks! - Julia from FaveCrafts

I have not made this yet so cannot rate it. But well pleased with the free the free patterns and the style of them. I have been trying to get these type of patterns but have had not luck before now so I am looking forward to knitting these up and will leave feedback once I have completed them.

Can you please tell me what to do for row 4 and row 6. They are missing.

Sorry, found my answer.

is row 5 replacing row 4?

Row 2 says, "Row 2 and alt". That means all the even rows.

On the soft cable hat knitting pattern; I do not see where the 4th row directions are. What do I do?

I love this Intricate Cable design in hat. But I need same pattern to make scarf of intricate cable- only one Intriacate cable in middle, instead of several. Can somebody writes pattern for me like how many stiriches to cast on etc.

Looooove this hat! It is true to size, pattern is clear and works exactly as it directs, and it is stylish--which was the first thing the young women in my family noticed. This makes up so quickly and, so far, fits every adult female I have given it to--have made about 6. I appreciate that it is not made with bulky yarn--finally a hat pattern for us "worsted weight yarn hoarders." I seem to have collected so much worsted yarn left over from making tons of afghans, and hats like this one are perfect for using my bits of stash. Thank you so much for making this available for us!

I need help in starting; I would appreciate help edwina bernard
