Pizza Box Jewelry Box

Turn an old pizza box into usable jewelry storage with this Pizza Box Jewelry Box tutorial from Savannah Starr.  This is a great project for a teen to do with her friends and it's a eco-friendly and fun way to reuse materials you have already.

Pizza Box Jewelry Box

  • Pizza box
  • Collage glue
  • Tissue paper
  • Magazine clippings
  • Foam core
  • Craft knife
  • Window screen (plastic)
  • Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
  • Small wooden cabinet knobs
  • Mirror
  • Hook for hanging
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brush
  • Decorative handle

  1. Take the top of the pizza box & glue both side flaps down. Use clothes pins to secure the flaps while drying.
  2. Miter the top two corners of the lid, glue them down and use clothes pins to secure them until dry.
  3. Now we are going to build a box inside the pizza box to hang the earrings.
  4. Build a box from foam core to fit inside pizza box, mine is a little larger than half the size.
  5. Paint the pizza box inside and out, let it dry.
  6. Collage the entire box with tissue paper and magazine images.
  7. Wrap and glue tissue around edges of box.
  8. Let the glue dry until it is clear.
  9. Take a piece of window screen cut it to fit over the foam core box and glue along edges.
  10. To make sure the window screen dries tight use pins to hold in place while it dries.
  11. To finish of the edges of the foam core box collage or paint four pieces of foam core and glue on top of the edges of the window screen.
  12. Glue small door knobs to hang necklaces, a mirror and hook if desired.
