Materials:

  • A picture frame
  • Sand
  • Plain white crafting glue (or Mod Podge)
  • A paint brush
  • Sea Shells (collected or store bought)
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

  1. Remove the glass and backing from the frame and brush onto the frame, covering the top and sides completely.

  2. Once the frame is covered with a nice coat of glue, sprinkle sand all over it.  Make sure you are working over a plate or newspaper to catch the sand.  (Note: this is an excellent “outside” craft…)  If you want it to look like dry sand, make sure you start with a white frame.

  3. Choose which shells to use and use the hot glue gun to put them on.

  4. You could either put a fun photo from your summer vacation or a treasure like this starfish.
