Colorful Crochet Baby Bib

Baby crochet patterns for beginners can often lead to amazing gifts. This is certainly the case for this Colorful Crochet Baby Bib. Use bright yarn colors like pink and yellow to make a completely unique piece that a new mommy will absolutely love.


 

Materials:

• Crochet Needle 2.5 – 3 mm
• Pink, lime and yellow fine cotton yarn

Instructions:

Row 1:   Ch loosely 46, ch 3 (your first dc), turn, 1 dc in each ch, ch 3 and turn

Row 2:   dc till end,  change to lime color, ch 3 and turn

Row 3: crochet following chart (see below), dc 3 in lime green, dc 1 in pink

Row 4, 5 see chart

Row 6: background color changes to pink, follow chart

Crochet until work measures about 9″, begin sloping at neck, working on one side only:

dc 16, turn, (decrease make one sl st), dc 15, turn, dc 14 and break thread. Repeat this step for opposite site.

Edging:

Row 1: sc around entire bib in lime

Row 2: picot edging in yellow:  ch 5, sl st in 3 ch from hook, sk 2 sc, sc in next, ch 5 sl st in 3 ch from hook etc.

For the strap Ch 3 ropes (one in each color) about 50″ in length.  Braid the three ropes together.
