Loose Weave Card

By: Maria Nerius, Resident Craft Expert

Weaving is fun for a variety of craft project. This card craft project by Maria Nerius uses a very loose weave to give a carefree, whimsical look and feel.

Loose Weave Card  Leave Weave Card 2

  • Design Originals Paper (Spring Stamps)
  • Scrap Paper
  • Card Blank
  • Embellishment: Faux Postage Sticker or Embroidered Butterfly Patch
  • White or Brown ink
  • Art Sponge
  • Fiskars Personal Paper Trimmer
  • Aleene’s Tacky Glue glue stick

  1. Cut scrap paper into strips. Width and size can be the same or feel free to vary the stripes.
  2. Weave the strips. You’ll be using 3 vertical and 3 horizontal strips.
  3. Glue weaved piece to front of card to bottom. Adhere embellishment to center of weave.
  4. Trim and double mat the Design Originals paper stamp (cut out 1 from sheet of 12). Adhere to top, center, at a slight slant.
  5. Sponge with contrasting ink.

Instructions too brief and too few illustrations - I just don't quite get it. I understand everything up to and including step 3, and I understand the images at the bottom of the photos, but not how they relate to the top of the images nor instructions 4 & 5. I'd LOVE to understand the rest of the card!! Tnx..
