This provides a great inspiration! Leave the wood 'as is' for a rustic look, or go holiday with red or green paint, or have it be a year round decor, with gold or metallic paint. For even more holiday flair I could see drilling in some holes to push through light bulbs in a random pattern, or around the edge. You could,use twinkle lights or even night light bulbs for a brighter version! Super creative, thanks for sharing!

I really like the way this giant star looks. The random slats of wood, some with paint, some without look so nice. I would love to try to make a few of these for a craft sale I am sure they would sell! I might make them just a bit smaller than the big one, maybe a bit bigger than the small one. One could use any type of wood, vary the width of the slats, use chalk paint on some, distress some. Can't wait to try this one.
