Maureen Wilson

Maureen WilsonHello, crafters! My name is Maureen Wilson, also known as Marzipan. I'm the creator of MadeByMarzipan.com, a sewing and craft tutorial site. My motto is "create everyday," and I do! I make cards for retail sale, I design scrapbook album kits, and I work as a designer for a scrapbook store. My work has been featured in national scrapbooking magazines, such as Paper Trends, and I sell some exclusive projects and patterns in my Etsy shop.

I've been scrapbooking for ten years, and doing it professionally for five. I also like to "alter" every day items (think clocks, baskets, frames) to put my own twist on them. And I love upcycling! If I can find a new use for "junk," I love the finished project twice as much!

I also love sewing! I am self-taught, so I know how overwhelming it can be for beginners. That's why my tutorials have a down-to-earth approach, without any big scary sewing words. (Anybody know what an "arm scye" is? Yeah, I didn't either!) You can find lots of my FREE sewing projects at AllFreeSewing.com.

It's my goal to find the easiest way to make adorable projects, and then share them with my crafting friends. I enjoy making step-by-step video tutorials, and I always love to hear your feedback on them. If you're curious why I prefer to do close-ups of my hands in my videos, I'll let you in on a little secret: most of the time, I craft in my pajamas! (Shh, don't tell!) As a mother of three young children, I craft whenever I have time, and that's often at midnight!

So if you love creating as much as me, check out my videos, and we'll have a craft night!

Ive seen this 'album' and it's taken me a while to find the pattern - will post again once I've made it - it's lovely. Thanks you.

I just watched your tutorial on a thread orgabizer. Do you have a thread organizer for cone thread?

I have been looking for a pattern that my sister made for my dtr many years ago. It is a doll house with all of the rooms. It has furniture and people with it. I still have it but many of the furniture pieces and dolls are missing. I would like to make this for my brand new niece and my youngest granddaughter.
