Crafty Wedding Favor Box

Use this box for many different occasions! You can put it under your Christmas tree or set it on the table at a birthday party. Fill with your favorite candy as a party centerpiece or pack it with a little tissue paper with jewelry for a gift.

Materials:

  • A 12x12 sheet of strong white card
  • Blue pearlescent card
  • Silver holographic card
  • Top Score Board & Scoring Tool
  • 3D foam pads
  • A lacing hole punch
  • A pale blue dye ink pad & piece of ‘Cut’n’Dry’ foam
  • Some pale blue I white organza ribbon
  • 4 small lilly embellishments
  • 4 good quality flat backed crystal gem embellishments

Step 1

Place the piece of 12x12 card onto the Top Score and mark all the way along the Tri-Fold 12x12 line. Rotate the card 90 degrees and score the same line. Repeat this score line a third and fourth time, until you have 9 equal squares scored on the card.

Step 2

Carefully cut away the four corner squares to leave a cross shape. With a ruler, lightly mark the halfway point on the outer edge of each of the four outer squares, which will be 2 inches along.

Step 3

With the Top Score & scoring tool, line up this mark against one of the score lines and score from this point to the bottom edge, where it joins the centre square. Repeat this on all four of the outer square panels, on both sides. You should now have a centre square with four adjoining squares marked with a triangle shape. With scissors, cut away all but a centimetre of the area outside the triangle all round.

Step 4

Take the lacing hole punch and make the holes at the top point of each of the four triangles. Now fold in the edge and bring the four triangles up to the middle.
Thread some organza ribbon through the holes to close the box and tie in a bow.

Step 5

To decorate the sides, score the small heart on the Top score 8 times- four onto pale blue pearlescent card and four times onto shiny silver card. When you cut them out, leave the score line on the silver hearts but cut it away from the blue ones, so that they nest on top of the silver hearts. Glue the blue hearts onto the silver ones and add a little glitter glue around the edge.

Step 6

Take four small flowers and twist the stem around a cocktail stick. When the glitter on the hearts is dry, stick the flowers onto them. Mat these hearts onto the sides of the boxes using 3D foam pads. Finally, stick a crystal to the top of each if the four triangles.

Step 7

To add a gift to the package, simply let down one side if the box & re-tie the bow.
