Materials:
- 16x20 canvas
- 3 wooden utensils
- Sandpaper
- Acrylic craft paint: white, black and burgundy
- Black transfer paper
- White craft glue
- Acrylic sealer spray in matte finish
Instructions:
- Paint the entire surface of the canvas white. This will help seal the canvas and keep dirt and smudges from collecting.
- Sand the wooden utensil to remove the shiny surface.
- Paint the wooden utensils burgundy. You may need 3-4 coats to get good coverage.
- Open a Word document and type the word "eat". Choose a font that suits you and enlarge the font size to fit across the top of the canvas. Print out the word.
- Position it onto your canvas and tape it in place with masking tape. Be sure to make sure everything fits by placing the spoons on the canvas as well. Once you are sure, set the spoons aside and place a piece of transfer paper under the "eat" print out.
- Use a ball point pen to trace the outline of letters of the word "eat".
- Lift the paper and you will see that the transfer paper has transferred the word to the canvas.
- Use a fine liner brush and black paint to paint the letters.
- Use white craft glue to glue the wooden spoons in place.
- Apply 1-2 coats of acrylic sealer spray.

I made my sign by cutting out the letters in vinyl with my die-cutting machine. My letters are black, and I painted my utensils teal. My sign says "Let's Eat." It looks great in my kitchen. I bought a five pack of canvases, so now I'm thinking of signs to make for other parts of my house. I think the laundry room would be a fun idea.

What a cute idea. It's easy, cute and very inexpensive. In other words it's calling to me and I intend on answering it. It's just to easy to pass it by. I will paint them red to match my color theme in my kitchen. I love things I can customize to fit in.

This will look perfect hanging on my kitchen wall. I love minimalist art because of its simplicity and because you can make it with some of your old kitchen utensils. Just sand them down and give them a chalkboard paint job and they're good to hang.

How cute and simple craft is this one? I love how it is simple yet elegant. I could match this up with any number of designs to fit in all my friends homes. I can see making them for part of a gift basket for birthdays and holidays. Add some pot holders and wallah.
