Thanksgiving table runner ideas like this mean you can start a new tradition! Made from chalkboard fabric, you and your loved ones can write what you're thankful for each year. It's a lovely way to kick off dinner, and you can reuse this idea year after year since it's made from chalkboard fabric! Kids will love using the piece of chalk you've included at their place setting. If you have an artistic relative, this table runner will be all the more entertaining for them, too! Materials List

  • Blackboard fabric
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Kai pinking shears or regular scissors
  • Chalk

  1. To prep the chalkboard fabric, the surface must be primed. To prime the fabric, rub the side of a piece of chalk over the entire surface. Use a soft cloth to wipe off the chalk, and repeat the process.

  3. Measure the table you want to cover to decide on the size of your runner. Cut to size using either pinking shears to give the edges texture, or regular scissors.

  4. Sew or glue burlap ribbon to the edge to give the project a rustic feel.

  5. Set the table and make sure you give every place setting a piece of chalk for people to write what they're thankful for!
