Materials List

  • Blackboard fabric
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Kai pinking shears or regular scissors
  • Chalk
  • Soft cloth

Instructions

  1. To prep the chalkboard fabric, the surface must be primed. To prime the fabric, rub the side of a piece of chalk over the entire surface. Use a soft cloth to wipe off the chalk, and repeat the process. 

  2. If your fabric is wrinkled, you can use your iron the wool setting. Iron the wrong side of the fabric and use a dry press cloth.

  3. Measure the table you want to cover to decide on the size of your runner. Cut to size using either pinking shears to give the edges texture, or regular scissors. 

  4. Sew or glue burlap ribbon to the edge to give the project a rustic feel. 

  5. Set the table and make sure you give every place setting a piece of chalk for people to write what they're thankful for!
