"An adorable sparkly ornament for your tree created with card-stock, chipboard, glue, Mod Podge, glitter, and establishments. Tools needed: digital cutting machine & cutting file, paint brush, hobby drill, glue gun, scissors, pliers, white and black pen for details. Time to create: 1-2 days depending on drying time A fun and creative ornament for displaying on your own tree or given as a gift. *ornament in picture was created using Little Scraps of Heaven Designs cutting file, but any desired cutting file can be used."

Materials List

  • colored cardstock
  • chipboard
  • tacky glue, hot glue,
  • glitter
  • Mod Podge
  • jumprings, chain
  • bells, snowflakes, holly establishments
  • string, ribbon

Instructions

  1. Using an electronic cutting machine such as a Cricut cut desired cutting file from colored card-stock. (Choose a file with a shadow layer of create one by welding pieces in cutting program)

  2. Cut shadow pieces from chip board, as many layers as desired thickness in finished piece.

  3. Assemble and glue card-stock pieces, allow to dry. Layer and glue chip board pieces, dry, glue together card-stock and chipboard parts, place under heavy object to press flat, preferably overnight.

  4. Add detail with pens. (eyes, etc)

  5. Apply Mod Podge to parts desiring glitter, sprinkle glitter on while still wet, allow to dry.

  6. Apply few more coats of Mod Podge to seal and add durability and strength to finished piece. At least 2 coats. Make sure to cover sides.
