For many years, our family would always have the bottom trunk sliced off of our live pine tree, usually a balsam or Douglas fir, to keep,it fresh longer. For some reason. I would, want to keep, the little stump cutting! Now I have a cute idea of what to do with the thinner sliced ones, and they will have a bit of sentimental family history behind them as well! Cute idea! For older kids you could glue on googly eyes as a more whimsical look!
