This is a question for jdesrochers3 5633751: I've been having a terrible time decreasing on the Bramble Afghan pattern. I wondered how and where you did your 3 decreases. Thanks for any help on this. Leesa

When you begin the cable center, it says to "dec 3 sts evenly spaced across row". By doing that, won't the stitch counts for 3 panels be less and won't that mess up the pattern? I think that maybe I should decrease in 3 of the Rev. Stockinette panels, but am not sure. Can anyone who has made this afghan successfully let me know how you did it? Thanks. Needler

I have 258 sts and I just started the cable section. The way I read it is: 1 = sl st 20 = Bramble 10 = Reverse st 19 x 7 = 133 = cable panel 10 = Reverse st 20 = Bramble 1 = K1 --------------- 195 sts, minus the 3 dec = 192 I'm missing 63 sts for 255. Where am I reading it wrong? Please help. I really like this afghan, would like to finish it. Thank you all in advance.

I loved making this afghan. I added rows to the top and bottom borders to better match the side borders.

Response to Crafter 4534281 I tried this and it worked. row 1 is the right side and is purled for both the Bramble stitch and for the Cable panel. Row 2--the wrong side is just as you described--you make the bramble on the wrong side but it comes out on the right side; on Row 3 which is also the row where the cable twist is made. The odd numbered rows are the right side for both the cable panel and the bramble stitch. You will see it after you do row 3. I had trouble remembering that knit stitches are done on the wrong side when you are doing reverse stockinette---which stitch is also purled on row 1. I hope this helps you.

I have completed the border on the Bramble Cable Afghan (10 rows). Now I am ready to start the Cable Center --Row 1 (RS). It says to work 20 sts in Bramble st . My problem is how do I do the Bramble st on the RS when it is made on the WS showing on the RS. Then the cable pattern will not be right. I have tried to solve this problem and have asked several good knitters and we cannot figure it out. Help, please and tell me what I am doing wrong. I love the pattern and am anxious to get working on the afghan.
