You take dozens or maybe even hundreds of Instagram photos a year, posting them onto social media and never looking back. Use more hands-on ways to preserve your happy memories and craft at the same time when you create these Instagram DIY Coasters. This easy craft idea shows you how to mod podge your favorite photos onto small, canvas boards that you can display in your home. This mod podge crafting idea is simple and easy, making an an ideal DIY for your home.

Materials List

  • 4x4" photo prints
  • 4x4" canvas boards
  • Mod Podge - Satin Finish
  • Craft paint in various colors
  • Sponge brushes
  • Scissors

Instagram DIY Coaster Mod Podge


  1. Using scissors, trim prints to fit onto the canvas boards.  Some trimming will be necessary.

  2. Paint edges of canvas board with desired color of craft paint.

  3. Allow paint to dry completely.

  4. Brush a generous amount of Mod Podge on the canvas board.

  5. Center image carefully on top of the canvas board and use fingers to press out any air bubbles.  Press from the center of the image out to the edges.

  6. Smoothly brush the top of the image with Mod Podge, being sure to press down any edges or corners that need secured, and along the edges of the canvas.

  7. Allow to dry completely.  Add another layer of Mod Podge if desired.
