  • Thin 1/8” or ¼” thick satin ribbon in two complementary colors
  • Barrette
  • Scissors


  1. Begin by cutting about 3-4’ long piece of ribbon in each color.

  2. Fold the ribbon in half.

  3. Begin at the closure end and secure your ribbon at the end by doing a quick tight weave.

  4. Begin braiding the ribbon back and forth across and through the barrette base.

  5. Once you get to the end, make sure you have a tight weave/braid and then tie it off.

  6. Trim the ends to the length you prefer.
