Give this inexpensive homemade gift during the holiday season! This Light Up Pine Cone Basket makes a fragrant statement and looks amazing.

Light Up Pine Cone Basket

Materials:

  • Any Size Basket
  • Assorted Pine cones
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Any wired ribbon, cut into 4"-6" pieces
  • 50 or 100 count strand of mini lights

Instructions:

  1. Place pine cones and mini lights in the basket, weaving the around the pine cones.
     
  2. Place the cinnamon sticks randomly in the basket.
     
  3. Place the ribbon pieces in the basket, slightly bent, to look as though the ribbon is actually weaved through the pine cones and lights.
     
  4. If your basket has a handle, wrap a ribbon around the handle if desired.

You could even take this to another level and add those clear ornaments in the basket. Add a bit of snow on the inside of the plastic clear ornaments. Toss them in to the basket with the pine cones and the ribbon. The lights that you add to the basket will really reflect off of those non-glass Christmas ornaments and SHINE!

This is very pretty. Such a simple and quick project, and perfect for decorating during the holidays or for anyone who loves nature crafts year-round. They would make lovely centerpieces for a winter wedding as well! Using battery operated strands of led lights or led tea light candles would eliminate cords, allowing them to be placed just about anywhere.

Lovely idea - and I have scads of pine cones that at one time were intended to be wreaths - just no time, but these baskets would not take long to create
