Old Sheets Wreath

Old Sheets Wreath

Do you like recycling sheets? You can take an old bed sheet and turn it into a stylish, eco-friendly wreath with the Old Sheets Wreath instructions from Calley Pate. You'll learn how to make a wreath on the cheap in no time at all!

Old Sheets Wreath

  • One wire wreath form (or any wreath form)
  • One queen size sheet
  • One pair of scissors

Old Sheets Wreath

  1. Cut the fabric into equal sized strips. Our strips were approximately 1-1.5″ wide and 6-9″ long. Be sure to cut the strips to about the same size or you’ll end up with an uneven looking wreath.
  2. Tie each strip onto the wreath form with a simple knot. I only tied a single knot but a double knot would prevent them from coming undone later. It’s not a piece that will get handled a lot so a single knot is fine for my purposes.
  3. Continue tying strips to the wire wreath form working to fill in as much space as possible. The entire process took me a little more than an hour to complete (after the kids were in bed). It’s a good project to do while watching television of chatting with family and friends.
  4. Embellish. You can add any additional embellishments if you like. Painted wooden or cardboard lettering would be cute hanging in the middle of your wreath with a coordinating ribbon.
  5. Hang up and Enjoy! I used a simple over the door wreath hanger. You could even add a ribbon if you want it to hang lower.

I used an old bathrobe to make a wreath like this for spring. The fabric was white and puffy with tons of flowers and pastel colors. I added a few fabric flowers and a pretty bow to give it a complete style and used it as my spring wreath on my door for several years in a row. This project is an excellent way to repurpose old clothes.

Definitely going to make this one! A good one to do while watching tv... just relaxing & not much "thinking" to do after a long day of work... I love wreaths !

Love this and I am going to make one this week end!
