Instructions

Finished Size: 12" (30.48cm) diameter

Cutting

Fabric A:
1 - 15" x 15" (background)
5 - 1" x 18" (hoop wrapping)

Fabric B: 1 - 15" x 14" (pocket)

Batting: 15" x 15"

Rick Rack: 15"

Assembly

  1. Place one end of a Fabric A wrapping strip (wrong side) at the back of the outer hoop next to the screw; glue in place. Wrap the hoop diagonally with ¾ of the previous wrap showing. Continue wrapping entire hoop with remaining wrapping strips, securing ends of strips to the back of the hoop as they run out, and finishing at the screw; trim end.

  2. Place Fabric A background right side up on batting and press layers together.

  3. Fold Fabric B pocket in half wrong sides together to measure 15" x 7". Press fold firmly to crease.

  4. Place rick rack along folded edge of pocket on back side so that the points of trim are even from the front side; glue in place.

  5. Line up cut edges of pocket along bottom of background; center and place over the inner hoop. Check that the pocket edge is straight across the hoop.

  6. Press covered outer hoop over design with the screw at the top (loosen the screw to fit over all layers).

  7. Pull edges so that the fabrics are taut in hoop; trim batting even with wrong side of hoop.

  8. Trim background and pocket 1" from edge of hoop; glue layers separately to inside of hoop.

Finishing

  1. Hang and place holiday cards in pocket.

We made a cute card hanger using a board with 3 cords hanging down with tiny clothes pins to attach the cards.

I hang them on the fridge using magnet.
