Primary Technique: Glass Crafts

Occasion/Theme: Winter

  • Glass jars or vases
  • Round wood plaques, small plates, or jar lids for the bases
  • Thread spools for finials
  • E-6000 Glue
  • Craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Trim for base of cloche
  • Items to put inside the cloche
  • Buttons for the "feet" of the cloche base (optional)
  • Hot glue

  1. Select your bases to fit your vases and jars.

  2. Remove the paper label from one end of the thread spools and use your E-6000 glue to attach them to the jars/vases.
  3. Next, use your hot glue to add embellishments around the base of the cloche or the base of the jar.  The items you want to showcase inside your cloche can be glued down so they don't move as well.

Okay, I had to read the instructions twice because I thought there must be something that I am missing here. Where are the rest of the steps to make these cloches? Well, it's really so simple. The finished product comes out so cute and vintage-y! I love the tiny figurines inside there. I see those all the time at the thrift store for .50 each. You can get your jars, vases, and glass bowls there, too. Truly a VERY thrifty decor idea for your home. These are awesome.
