Hi there, My advice would be to paint the tray - that way you don't have to worry about wrinkles. However, if you make sure to get rid of air bubbles and don't rush the project, you should be able to create a fantastic decoupaged tray. Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be great. Thanks! - Julia from FaveCrafts

Can anyone please help. I am decoupaging a large tray for my daughter. I have painted the whole tray in black and would like to use wrapping paper in black and white stripes to decoupage two thirds of the base of the tray. On the other one third I would like to use black and white polka dots BUT because the tray is large I am afraid the paper will wrinkle. Should I rather paint to black and white stripes and the polka dots instead of using paper. If so what would be the best way to do the polka dots? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
