Vogue Fashion Lamp Shade

If you're finding it difficult to find cheap vintage home decor, why not make your own?  This Vogue Fashion Lamp Shade is budget friendly and super easy to make.  DIY lampshades are fashionable again!

Vogue Fashion Lamp Shade


  • Craft Paints
  • Fabric Lamp Shade
  • Mod Podge
  • Stickers or Paper Pattern
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors (tiny ones work best)




  1. Gather your paints and mix however you please.

  2. Paint each piece of trim with your craft paint mix.

  3. Allow your trim paint to dry, then start on the center pieces.  Allow each to dry fully.

  4. Add trim if desired.

  5. Cut out each lady on the vintage dress pattern envelope one at a time.  Add Mod Podge to the reverse side of each lady prior to putting it directly on the lamp shade.  Go over each lady with Mod Podge once she's on the shade.  Allow to dry fully.

This is such an adorable lamp shade idea! Using the vintage sewing pattern covers of the old fashions is an inspired use and creates a really outstanding shade! This tutorial shows a shade with the sparkles dangling at the edge, but i could see adding that for sure if my shade doesn't already have it. Finding some special images that pertain to your life or the life of another would make this a great personalized gift!

Love this! I have tons of old patterns. I think the really old patterns (black & white) would look better. I have many of these.
