Scrappy Flower Statement Necklace

Scrappy Flower Statement Necklace

Materials:

 

  • Aleene's® Fabric Fusion® Permanent Fabric Adhesive
  • Tulip® Fashion Glitter® in Gold Fine (23540)  
  • Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue®
  • Tulip® Glam-It-Up!™ Iron-On Crystals™
  • Straight pins
  • Tweezers
  • Felt square – beige
  • Tulle – beige
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine
  • Fabric (1/4 yard) Gold, Beige
  • Measuring tape
  • Ribbon – beige – 1 yard of 1" wide
  • Cotton swabs

 

Instructions:

  1. Cut three strips from each fabric:    Gold: 3” wide by 7” long; Beige: 2” wide by 7” long; Tulle: 1” wide by 7” long.
     
  2. Sew a gathering stitch down the middle of each strip.
     
  3. Gather each strip, fold in half, and form three flat rosettes from each strip.
     
  4. Using Fabric Fusion, glue the three gold rosettes onto the felt, holding in place with pins until set.
     
  5. Glue the three beige rosettes on top of the gold rosettes and let dry.
     
  6. Fray the edges of the fabric.
     
  7. Dab Tacky Glue around the edges of the rosettes with a cotton swab. Sprinkle Silver Glitter on the beige fabric and Gold Glitter on the gold fabric. Let dry then shake off excess glitter.
     
  8. Glue the three tulle rosettes of top of the beige rosettes. Let dry.
     
  9. Roll and twist three sections of tulle into a knot, hand sewing to hold together.
     
  10. Glue knotted tulle on top of the three rosettes, holding in place with straight pins until dry.
     
  11. Use tweezers to apply crystals in a random pattern on the rosettes. Set in place with the Cordless Heat-Setting Tool, following instructions on package.
     
  12. Cut ribbon in half and glue ends to necklace with Fabric Fusion to complete.
