Don't throw away your old and worn-out T-shirts. Recycle them by turning them into a cozy cushion for your feet! This DIY Rags-to-Rugs Craft is perfect for upcycling items you don't wear anymore. You could also go to the thrift store and buy some old T-shirts cheap.
Cotton shirts work best for this project. You'll also need something to act as a loom to weave your DIY rag rug together (a cardboard circle or hula-hoop works nicely). These recycled craft ideas are easy and can be done in an evening. Use bold colors to add some punch to your living room decor. These crafts are also great for decorating a kid's room or nursery.

I have been wanting to make a rag rug for a while now but need to get more confident to make one. This is a good tutorial with pictures and it seems like it is manageable. I love that you can use the colors of your choice and use T-shirts that you can recycle. I have got to keep this on my to do list. anyone else want to make your own rag rug this is for you too.

I got a virus threat message on the rag rug t shirt site - shame I really wanted to look at it. (

Oh no! I just clicked through to the A Piece of Rainbow website and I didn't get a message like that. Maybe it was a temporary problem that is now resolved! It is a lovely project.

A nice detailed and comprehensive pattern page. She did a good job with all the step by step pictures. I have not made something like this before, and I would be ready to go- feeling confident that I could do this on my own. It is certainly a more involved DIY than some of the others I have seen. It's one of those projects where you will reap the rewards of your hard work!

Such a wonderful idea to use t shirt yarn . It seems a bit tasking though but after you get all the strips of yarn and learn the basic weaving techniques you are good to go.

What a wonderfully vivid and colourful rug. I have never done weaving in the round like that I like how everything is so well explained, and all the pictures are very helpful. I will have to read it through completely a few times to make sure I get the process and the technique.
