Message Pendant

We know how important it is to share your sentiment with others and this project from The Bead Studio allows you to do that in style. As others see your message it will open up communication to share your feelings about what your words mean to you.

Materials:

  • 3 Word Pewter Beads
  • 2 6mm Soldered Rings
  • 8" 22g German Craft Wire
  • 1.5" Headpins
  • 16mm Swarovski Crystal
  • Chain Nose Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Round Nose Pliers

Instructions:

  1. Make a loop in the center of the 18" wire and slide the two soldered rings into the center of the loop, twist twice. Separate wires.

  2. Determine the arrangement of the words. Slide the first word onto one of the wires and feed the other wire through the bead in the opposite end of the bead hole. Gently work the bead up until it is centered and snug under the twist. (Be aware of the direction of the words so they are not upside down.)

  3. Select the second word bead, making sure the word is facing the same direction as the top word bead, and weave wires through the bead in opposite directions. Slowly and gently work the bead up by pulling both ends firmly, paying attention to the centering of the bead. If it seems uneven, pull just one wire to even it out. It gets tricky as you pull the wire tighter, just keep it slow and smooth.

  4. Repeat step 3 for the third bead.

  5. Wire wrap a loop at the center of the bottom bead. I like to use up some of the extra wire by continuing to wrap over the coil until you like the look, then trim and tuck.

  6. Place the crystal bead on the headpin, make a loop and slide into the bottom loop on the word bead pendant. Wrap closed.

  7. Add a cord or chain as desired.
