"This Bolero/Shrug/cardigan sweater is worked top down. Works up very quickly, and all sizes from 6 yrs to adult plus sizes are included in the pattern instructions. I used worsted weight yarn and a 9 mm crochet hook. You will need 1 ball of Bernat Premium for the smaller sizes, and 2 for any size medium and above, so this is a very economical garment to crochet! I added ties in front, but you could sew a button as a closure."
