Halloween Cookie Tin

The Halloween Cookie Tin is a cute decoration for Halloween, especially for in the kitchen. You can make this craft "green" by using a cookie tin you already own or by buying one for a dollar or less at a thrift store. This art decoration focuses on painting, so you really only need painting supplies and a few stencils. You can use this Halloween cookie tin for storing your spooky cookies or you can even put Halloween candy in it to hide your sweets from the rest of the family.

Primary Technique: Painting

Occasion/Theme: Fall

  • Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics: Orange Sherbet, Black Tie, Iris
  • Americana Stencil: Times New Roman
  • Americana Mixed Media Stencil: Retro Mod
  • Water container
  • Palette or plastic plate
  • Paper towels
  • Cookie tin
  • Paintbrush
  • Cosmetic sponges
  • Palette
  • Painter's tape

  1. Wash tin and dry thoroughly.

  2. Brush on multiple thin coats of Orange Sherbet all over the tin.

  3. Adhere the Retro Mod Stencil to the side of the cookie tin with painter's tape.

  4. Lightly load cosmetic sponge with Iris and pounce lightly over stencil. Use multiple thin coats.

  5. Stencil 31 to the lid using the Americana Times New Roman Stencil and Black Tie.

  6. Dip the handle end of the paintbrush into Black Tie and add dots to the center of each Iris circle on the side.
