Ghostly Bottles

Halloween Rub n Etch works wonders with this craft from Etchworld Armour. Make yourself a ghostly bottle this Halloween. In eight steps you can make yourself a whole collection.

Materials:

  • 61-3329 White, Gold Rub N Buff
  • 20-0465 Halloween Rub N Etch
  • 15-0150 Armour Etch Cream *
  • 61-3330 Ebony Rub N Buff
  • 86-4401 Black Gel Effects
  • 86-4402 Silver Gel Effects
  • 86-4410 Green Gel Effects
  • Squiggily bottle or other spooky, weird or unusual tall bottle
  • 08-9777 scissors
  • 08-9415 Masking tape
  • 85-2146 Stylus/Burnisher or popsicle (from stencil package)
  • Cotton swabs
  • Paper towels
  • Liner brush
  • Piece of mylar or small plastic plate

Steps:

  1. Wash & dry bottle in hot soapy water prior to applying stencil.

  2. Cut out all the ghosts and bats from the stencil sheet .

  3. Arrange the ghosts up the bottle tilting alternately left to right, placing the ghost with the moon at the top. Hold stencil down with small pieces of tape. Place the bats in and around the ghosts and tape down.

  4. Follow included instructions or refer to “Product Manual & Instructions” for complete instructions on applying a Rub N Etch stencil. Rub down all stencil pieces, remove cover sheet, rub with frosted paper.

  5. Cover face of bottle with the masking tape in between all the stencil pieces.

  6. Etch the glass with the Etch Cream.

  7. Rinse glass under warm running water until no visible cream remains. Pull off masking and stencil, then rinse again until no residue of the cream remains. Pat dry.

  8. Apply white Rub N Buff to the ghosts, ebony to the bats and gold to the sliver of moon.

  9. Across the bottom of the bottle make four upside down U shapes for headstones, tilting them like crooked teeth with the silver Gel Effects. Fill in around the bottom with stalks of grass using the green.

  10. Squeeze a small amount of black Gel Effects on the plastic plate or mylar scrap. Dip the liner brush in a little water and then squeeze out bristles so there is no water in them and form a point. Dip liner brush in the black gel and write RIP, Here Lies, Gone, or whatever you want on the headstones or just make some little crack lines on them or a spiderweb. (follow the picture!)
