Flower Granny Poncho
Crochet this poncho based off the granny square motif. The colors really stick out and show your fashion side. The flowers add nice taste and style. This is an easy crochet pattern from Bernat Yarns for beginners and anyone else.

Flower Motif A [make 11 (12-13)].
With A, ch 3. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in ring. Ch 4. Rep from * 3 times more. Join with sl st to first sc. Break A.
2nd rnd: Join B with sl st to any sc. Ch 1. *(1 sc. 1 hdc. 3 dc. 1 hdc. 1 sc) all in next ch-4 sp for petal. **Sl st in next sc. Rep from * twice more, then from * to ** once. Join with sl st to first sl st. Break B.
3rd rnd: Join A with sl st to back loop only of second dc of any petal. Ch 3 (counts as dc). (1 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in same sp. Ch 4. *(2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in back loop only of second dc of next petal. Ch 4. Rep from * twice more. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. Break A.
4th rnd: Join MC with sl st to any ch-2 sp (corner). Ch 3 (counts as dc). (1 dc. Ch 3. 2 dc) in same sp. *1 dc in each of next 2 dc. 4 dc in next ch-4 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc.** (2 dc. Ch 3. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Rep from * twice more, then from * to ** once. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. Break MC.

Lower Border
With RS of Motifs tog and C, sew through back loops only to form a strip 11 (12-13) Motifs long. Sew first and last Motifs tog to form a ring.
Lower Edging: Join MC with sl st to joint between motifs and proceed as follows:
1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. *Working in back loops only, 1 sc in corner ch. (1 sc in each of next 3 dc. Miss next ch-1 sp) 3 times. 1 sc in each of next 3 dc. 1 sc in back loop of corner ch. 1 sc in join between Motifs. Rep from * around, omitting last 1 sc in join. Join with sl st to first sc. 165 (180-195) sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp. *Miss next sc. Working in both loops, 3 dc in next sc. Ch 2. 3 dc in next sc. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around, omitting last sc. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Body of Poncho
Join MC with sl st to any join between Motifs to rem edge of Lower Border and proceed as follows:
1st rnd: As 1st rnd of Lower Edging.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. *Ch 8. Miss next 4 sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last 4 sc. Ch 3. 1 tr in first sc. 33 (36-39) arches.

Work 1st and 2nd rnds as given for Flower Motif A.
3rd rnd: Join C with sl st to back loop only of second dc of any petal. Ch 1. (2 sc. Ch 2. 2 sc) in same sp. Ch 4. * (2 sc. Ch 2. 2 sc) in back loop only of second dc of next petal. Ch 4. Rep from * twice more. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Upper Border
With RS of Motifs tog and C, sew through back loops only to form a strip 14 (15-16) Motifs long. Sew first and last Motifs tog to form a ring.
With MC, sew row just made to Body of Poncho, using flat seam.
Upper Edging: Join MC with sl st to any corner ch of rem side of Motif.
1st rnd: Ch 1. *Working in back loops only, 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in first sc. Miss next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 ch. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next sc. 1 sc in corner ch. Rep from * around.
Join with sl st to first sc. 112 (120- 128) sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp. 1 sc in next sc. *Ch 2. Miss next 2 sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sc. Ch 2. Miss next 2 sc. Join with sl st to first sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp. 1 sc in each of next sc. Ch 3. Sl st in first ch – Picot made. *2 sc in next ch-2 sp. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Picot. Rep from * to last ch-2 sp. 2 sc in next ch-2 sp. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Lower Edging: Join MC with sl st to any corner ch of bottom strip of Motifs.

Drawstring: Make chain 65 ins [165 cm] long and weave through ch-2 sp for Drawstring.

This is a very elegant poncho. I like the fuschia/black combination. You can wear this in the daytime until the evening if you have to go out on an important party or official function. Nice!

Now this isn't your regular poncho. I haven't seen anything like it and I love it. The bust area is a meshwork detail that can show off your outfit so it doesn't go unnoticed but your still warm in it. This project is intricately beautiful and yet somewhat difficult for me to attempt also.
