Learn to Sew: Machine Sewing Basics

During this class, you'll learn sewing machine basics including:
-An overview of the different parts of a sewing machine
-An introduction to presser feet for different types of sewing
-Standard utility and decorative stitches
-The difference between top and bobbin thread
-How to sew in a straight line
MATERIALS LIST:
-Sewing machine including standard presser foot and any zigzag presser foot that came with your sewing machine.
-Sewing machine manual (if available).
-Universal sewing machine needle - 80/12 suggested size, or needle that came with your sewing machine.
-Quilters pins (or round head, flat head, or T-pins) and pincushion.
-100% size 50 cotton thread in any dark color.
-100% cotton fabric, in white or a light color, cut into three 5" squares. (You can buy "charm packs" of pre-cut 5" squares, or cut your own squares from 1/4 yard of fabric or a "fat quarter" pre-cut fabric.)
Iron-on/fusible stabilizer, such as Sulky Totally Stable, cut into one 5" square.
-Basic sewing supplies: Seam ripper, thread snips or small scissor, etc.
