Pom Pom Cupcakes

From the blogger: "Everyone loves pom poms; and, everyone loves cupcakes! So, try merging the two and create something really cute for a tea and cupcake party. A tea party is a great opportunity for kids to play with friends and for you to have a cup of tea with your friends also! A minimal decoration to make like this one, tea in many flavors, and cupcakes will be just fine for all of us! The procedure is really easy and so fun. Place the pom pom onto a cupcake case and with hot glue, decorate your "cupcake" with a smaller pom pom or button or marshmallows!"

Materials List

  • Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Pom pom maker
  • Hot glue
  • Cupcake cases
  • Small pom pom or buttons for crafts

Instructions

  1. The procedure is really easy and so fun. First, put your two parts of the half pom pom together. Start winding the yarn around the maker and continue this until the maker is totally covered. Repeat this procedure with the other half.

  2. Connect the two halves together and with scissors, cut between the two halves of the pom pom maker. Use a long piece of yarn in order to put it between your pom pom maker parts and make two very strong simple knots to stabilize it.

  3. De-assemble the pom pom maker and give your pom pom a trim. Your yarn pom pom is ready!

  4. Repeat the above procedure to create more. We have created a few of pink and yellow and bright green and turquoise, all of them adorable!

  5. Almost done: put the pom pom into the cupcake case and with hot glue decorate your "cupcake" with a smaller pom pom or button or marshmallows! The cutest cupcakes ever are ready!!!

These pom poms are so huge! I only know how to make the smaller ones so this calls for a pom poms maker. Little kids will love this project as a decor piece for their room. This could also make a cute addition for taking flat lays for your food blog or Instagram.

I guess this crafter needs to get to the store and buy her a couple different sizes of pom-pom makers! I am finding so many ADORABLE pom pom projects. And easy ones, too. I would love to make a set of these for a family friend's young daughter. I think it's neat how the pom pom cupcakes are nestled in a paper cupcake wrapper. It kind of combines two different crafts together.

Perfect for childrens' party decor! It's nice and easy and cost effective. You can reuse these for other parties or celebrations. You can put marshmallows on top of the pom poms to make it look like a real cupcake. Very creative!

So precious!! This would be a cute party favor...use them to decorate during the party, and then let everyone take their favorite color home or something like that. Adorable!

These are so cute! They would be a fabulous decoration for a birthday party or baby shower!

What a fun idea!! I just recently started making pom pom animals, but I NEVER would have thought to turn them into cupcakes!
