Camping Album

Store your kid's favorite camping memories in an album. This kid craft project is a great idea for any boy or girl. Make sure to bring the camera for the next camping trip adventure.

Materials:

DecoArt Products Required

  • Americana Acrylics
    • DA132 - Hauser Medium Green
  • 8" x 8" album, The Paper Studio, #142927
  • Scrapbook paper (We used The Paper Studio, Forest Trees 180216.)
  • 2" chipboard letter shapes, "camp", The Paper Studio #866376
  • 1/4" flat brush
  • Foam plate
  • 20-mm round foam stencil brush
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • School glue stick
  • Lo-temp glue gun and glue stick
  • Sharpie twin tip (fine/ultra fine point) black permanent marker

Instructions:

  1. Measure and cut 7" square from scrapbook paper. Leaving 2" border, cut 3" square from center of paper.

  2. Use glue stick to cover back of paper piece. Center and press paper over front of album, using fingers to spread paper flat and remove wrinkles. Let glue dry.

  3. Use flat brush and Hauser Medium Green to paint letters; let dry.

  4. Remove adhesive backing from letters and, referring to photo for placement, attach letters on top section of album. (Or use lo-temp glue, if needed.)

  5. Referring to photo, use stencil brush and Hauser Medium Green to paint dots to form caterpillar across bottom section of album; let dry.

  6. Use fine point marker to draw short lines for legs, curly antennae, eye dots, and smile on caterpillar.

  7. Use ultra fine point to write activities on patterned paper: names of camp team around border of album; name of attendee and date of camp below photo opening (or photo caption, if desired).

Helpful Tip:

We used Americana Acrylic color to match scrapbook paper.
