Simple Mittens

"This is a very simple pattern but it is worked with double pointed needles. I know a lot of you dread using double pointed needles and find them confusing but this is the perfect project to start getting friendly with them. If you have never knitted with double pointed needles, don’t panic! It looks hard but is very easy and I’ll walk you through every step. The simple mittens design is very sober and can easily be used for men and woman depending on the yarn color chosen of course. Get the matching Simple Hat here:https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-hat-18 1. Materials I used the following materials for these easy mittens: 5mm and 6mm double pointed needles. Nice, soft, bulky wool for 7-8mm. I used Julia yarn from Zeeman in light grey. On the label, they recommend 7-8mm needles, but I used smaller needles on purpose because I wanted my mittens to be nice and warm and thick and cozy. Stitch marker Stitch holder Tapestry needle to weave in the ends. 2. Abbreviations K = knit P = purl K2tog = knit 2 stitches together Ssk = slip slip knit. This is an easy method to knit 2 stitches together and get a symmetrical effect to the k2tog. If you prefer, you can substitute for a simple k2tog."
