Feathered Dishcloth
A simple feathered design in this dishcloth knitting pattern from Lily Sugar n' Cream makes for a pretty white kitchen accent. Knit this dishcloth in any cotton yarn color you desire. For the whole set, make the yellow tulip dishcloth and the pastel squares dishcloth!
Materials:
- Yarn: Lily Sugar’n Cream 4-Ply Worsted Weight 100% Cotton – Solids – 2.5 oz/70.9 g; Ombres – 2 oz/56.7 g Solids or Ombres - 1 ball White.
- Knitting Needles: 5.00 mm knitting needles (U.S. 8)
Instructions:
Cast on 58 sts loosely.
Row 1: *K2. yfwd. K4. (K2tog) twice. K4. yfwd. K1. yfwd. K4. (K2tog) twice. K4. yfwd. K2. Rep from * once more.
Row 2: K2. Purl to last 2 sts. K2.
Row 3: Knit.
Rows 4-6: As 1st - 3rd rows.
These 6 rows form pat.
Rep these 6 rows 9 times more, then rows 1 and 2 once more. Cast off knitways.

yfwd is a yarn forward...it's similar to a yarn over and actually kind of how I do a yarn over in Portuguese knitting, where you change the position of the yarn before knitting the next stitch (versus wrapping over the needle).

This is the basic granny square. There are many resources to get the instructions - quite easy if you can double crochet and chain. Hope this helps!
